Dear Brandon,
I just wanted to write you a little note to say thank you so much for what you did for me on Saturday. All I hear about lately is how most people are selfish and only care about themselves, but then you go and prove the exact opposite.
I'll be honest with you, I was having a pretty bad day on Saturday. I woke up and was cranky, my binky bear had drool all over it from being used as a pillow, and the hotel was out of scrambled eggs and low fat turkey bacon by the time that I got downstairs for breakfast. Also, I was pretty sure that we were going to have a tough time on the football field that day. You might say that I didn't have a very positive attitude!
But then in the first quarter, you somehow knew that I was down, and decided to cheer me up. I love Christmas and my birthday, but I personally feel that the best gifts are the unexpected ones. Nothing could have brightened my day more than when you went, "Hey Anthony, you seem down. How about you have this little leather ball for a while?". I know you didn't say that out loud, but I saw it in your eyes. I also saw the tears of joy in your eyes when you saw how happy I was.
I have spent the last three years at MS St. being told that I was great on defense, but not so much on offense. I never get to touch the ball. If I pick it up during practice to caress it ever so gently, I get yelled at, and then told to do stadiums as punishment. Words can hardly describe how I felt when you let me hold the ball during an actual game! And then I ran it for eight yards. Eight yards! That's pretty much like being a running back and running for eight yards. That's almost a first down. If they had lined me up at tailback the next play, I could have totally gotten those other two yards. First down, baby!
But I digress. Your random act of kindness this Saturday turned my whole day around. I will never forget this. If you're ever in StarkVegas and you need a place to stay, don't hesitate to give me a call. Thank you so much for taking the time to make my day better.
Your new BFF,
Anthony
